Claude Max & Ultra: new names, new recommendations
We've updated Claude Tuner for Claude's new plan names and the removal of the 5-hour limit on Ultra. We've also changed how we recommend downgrades. (v1.56.13)
What changed?
Anthropic renamed its Claude plans. Prices stay the same.
- Max 5x → Max ($100/month)
- Max 20x → Ultra ($200/month)
Verified Ultra accounts no longer have a 5-hour usage limit. The weekly limit still applies.
In Claude Tuner
- The popup, sidebar, alerts and dashboards show the new names. On Ultra, the 5-hour gauge and alerts are gone, and only weekly usage is shown. Ultra accounts that still have a 5-hour limit look the same as before.

- On team dashboards, days with no 5-hour limit are left out of 5-hour averages instead of counting as 0%. The weekly report email shows "No 5-hour limit reported" under Limit Status.

New plan recommendations
The old recommendations looked mostly at how high your usage ran. They could miss people who would keep hitting a limit on a lower plan.
Now we ask: "If you had spent the last two weeks on the plan one step down, how often would you have hit a limit?"
- One step at a time (Ultra → Max, Max → Pro, Team Premium → Team Standard).
- Both weekly and 5-hour limits count.
- No downgrade is suggested with less than 7 days of data.
- We set the rules by checking them against people who actually downgraded.

Note: Ultra has no 5-hour data, so the Ultra → Max recommendation is based on weekly usage only. Max does have a 5-hour limit, so keep that in mind if you tend to use Claude in short bursts.
Nothing to do
The extension updates automatically. The new recommendations run on our servers, so dashboards already use them.
